Moderate and smooth soft groups got the importance. The colours starting with white, stony shades and icy blue were special tones of the season.  Beige and salmon tones were  a priority on the color palette.

The tones which are close to white, cold and cool green tones, mint tones and very light beige color tones, coral red and yellow tones were prevalent.

Live and neon colors are open to unlimited use in the palette. However, green and pink are more dominant.  Also artificial materials, green and  natural green, red and orange effects. In fact, it’s a very dark group.  Dark, aggressive and influential.  Carbon, purple and blue tones have brought dynamism to the summer of 2015.

   CHIAROSCURO

Inspired by the art form, with its use of strong contrasts between light and dark. It also alludes to the fairy tales we learned as children, dark and magical stories with extreme characterizations including the pure heroine, the valiant prices and the wicked witch influence a palette of stark black and white with shadowy grey hues. Metallic shades of copper and old gold speak to a medieval timbre and are used in combination with deep red and teal blue.

   ROMANY

This theme alludes to the romance and history of the traveling people of Old Europe. Color inspiration comes from their brightly painted caravans and the rich hues of their embroidered textiles. Intense shades of red and orange mix with a variety of blues and greens. Charcoal grey, navy blue and pale yellow, offset the brights. This palette works well for prints and patterns on both woven sans sweater knits.

   BUOYANT

Modern technology offers us the opportunity to remain connected with others, not alienated or alone. Perhaps because of this and despite the continuing struggles with the economy, climate change and other challenges to our survival, we remain optimistic about the future. That optimism is reflected in a palette of unexpectedly light and bright shades of color offset with tinted neutrals. Garment shapes, particularly outerwear, grow in volume but in featherweight fabrics, offering a protective shell that is still light and easy to wear.

TRENDS + COLORS // CSI - A/W 2014-15

COLOR SOLUTIONS INTERNATIONAL is a color resource provider.  Below are their color board inspirations, Frozen and Apple Garden.  To order their current  A/W 2014-15 color inspiration color standards and their individual ribbons, go here

   FROZEN

Under the frozen filigree of glistening ice, colors are preserved crisp and beautiful. In the quiet winter nights the trees are dressed in icy glitter, creating a picture so enchanting and surreal as if painted by an artist. The colors of “Frozen” are soft and clean – cool green, dusty aqua, dove grey, creamy beige, delicate coral; a palette in which dark blue plays a role as a ground color, adding contrast and different value to the overall light color scheme.

   APPLE GARDEN

As the harvest season is approaching, we gain contentment as we gather the fruits of the bright summer days, but also we feel uncertainty in what lies ahead. These mixed emotions convert into creative powers as we want to believe that we can preserve the beauty of nature for a little longer. The color palette  in “Apple Garden “ is inspired by the vibrant prints of flowers, fruits, leaves and magical fire birds found in eastern European decorative art and the old folk tales carrying romanticism and wisdom. Red is sensual, well balanced with elegant neutrals. The dark teal enhances the effect of the warm colors, adding harmony and wintery appeal.
