On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of fashion designer Micol Fontana, thefoundation that bears his name is launching a contest for creative young people of all nationalities.
The inspiration is Hollywood on the Tiber: the '50s and '60s, when fashion becameentertainment thanks to the arrival of the major international film production houses in Rome . Italian and foreign designers between the ages 18 and 30 can participate, creating either a piece of clothing or an accessory: a bag, a jewel or a shoe.
To participate, submit the material specified in the guidelines (available on the website www.micolfontana.it) to the address micolfontana2013@gmail.com by October 15th 2013.
The committee will contact the 20 designers of the projects selected for the finals - which will designate one winner for clothing and one winner for each category of accessories - by November 15th 2013.
The winners will be offered internships in their field of participation: Max Mara for clothing, Fendi for bags, Bulgari for jewelry and Fondazione Ferragamo for footwear. A precious opportunity to get to the heart of the fashion world, and an even better one to put oneself to the test with a fairytale period ofItalian haute couture.
