Dear Fashion Vignette readers,
it’s Gudy again from Eclectic Trends and I am writing today the third chapter about my trend presentation I did for Global Color Research in London. This theme is interesting since it’s all about self-expression and the way we like to customize our objects such as fashion or furniture pieces. It just feels good to be able to identify with your very own style. I hope you enjoy the report and feel free to drop me a comment, I’d like to love to hear your opinion.

Warm regards, Gudy

This is already the third part of my AW 2016/17 trend presentation for Global Color Research and Trend Talk at the Meet The Blogger event in Barcelona. I hope you enjoyed my last AW 2016/17 trend post WONDERLAND ( here ) and SCANNED (here), which had been the favorite among my readers. I’d love to hear your opinion too.
This theme is about SELF EXPRESSION.
Its inspiration comes from the 80s where Ettore Sottsass being in his 60s gathered a group of really young designers and architects to create a non conformist approach with bright, colorful and quite shocking pieces. This was the beginning of Memphis Design.

COLLAGE reflects optimism and has a playful and energetic feel encouraging you to cut and paste your own style. It’s an artsy thinking.

Customization is huge, the idea of adding your own brush strokes on your garments becomes very appealing. Or you can build up and stack your own furnitures creating personal designs (i.g. Lago).

You have graphics such as dots, grids, stains but all very irregular are keywords here.
