Schmid: The trends for the A/W 2017/18 season – Chapter 3: Stoned

The discovery of Schmid’s most appealing fashion trends continues: Stoned

Stoned is the new natural trend. The pristine purity of original rough-hewn surfaces. The minimalist style pushed to the extreme, worn down, bleached, dusty. The user of Stoned is a Millenial, the new generation living in emerging nations, who is seeking purity, simplicity and a post-industrial style. It is a sophisticated style in its way of being undefined and unpolished.

Colour palette
The palette is made up of arid and natural colours: mineral and dusty grey hues blend with the tones of barren lands with different shades of browns.

Materials
Dusty, solid and natural: these are the three key words for the fabrics of this theme: stone-washed denims, corroded and oxidized surfaces covered with ivy foil, soft surfaces with needle-punched wools and filled bouclé weaves.

Also playing a leading role are rough felts and mixed gabardines. The picture is completed with the whitening and craquelure effect on drill and cotton canvas with waxed raffia threads.
